Wayne Yarcho
Year Inducted: 1988
Wayne grew up in Illinois and as a high school runner he finished 3rd in the state in the 880 yard event his senior year. He later settled in the Miami Valley and became extremely active with the Ohio River Road Runners Club, serving as the president in the late 1960ʼs and early 1970ʼs.
Wayne was one of the central advocates and organizers of running in the Dayton area during those early years. He was a national class race walker, competing for the old Dayton Athletic Club and the Kettering Striders in meets and races throughout the country.
