Lloyd Laubach

Year Inducted: 1989

 

Lloyd was the director of the Ohio River Road Runners CLub Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot and the Lou Cox Memorial 5K, two of the largest and most successful races in Dayton road racing history. Lloyd was the founding father and chief organizer of the Lou Cox Memorial 5K which has become a premier running event. He has given his time and leadership to many other area races, including the Dayton River Corridor Classic which he served on the organizing committee for ten years.

A top masters and age group performer, he won or placed in many prominent races throughout the country. An intense competitor and a threat to win either the masters division or an age group award every time he came to the starting line.

Lloyd is the chairman of the Department of Health and Sport Science at the University of Dayton. He has been the heart and spirit of the program from the beginning.
