Dan Giner
Year Inducted: 1996
Dan was one of the top masters runners in Ohio for many years. He was a member of the Bob Schul Racing Team and the Athletes Unknown Team, both these teams were filled with fast and talented runners. He won a number of national awards in the masters team competition.
Boosting a tremendous record over the years at the Dayton River Corridor Classic, he was the overall masters winner in the race in 1987 and was in the top 3 masters finishers many times in this very competitive race. His recorded a 1:13:52 for this half-marathon event at the age of 46. In 1992 Dan recorded the 6th fastest American time and the 7th fastest time in the world for the 45-49 age group.
In his career he was an age group winner at many major USA road races including: Cleveland Revco 10K, Huntington Distance Classic, Elbyʼs Classic 20K, Maggie Valley 8K, Charleston Distance Classic, and the Kentucky Derby ½ Marathon.
